A Few More "Coming Soons"

Fabrics, buttons, ribbons and other lovely sewing stuff is coming through thick and fast and my online shop is filling up nicely.  In my eyes, the 1st March cant come quick enough, and I hope you all feel the same!

I thought I'd give you a few sneak previews of whats coming soon, plus I love these fabrics so much, I just had to share them!

These all scream summer to me.  Hmmm, maybe I am more fed up of winter than I realised!

I also adore this cotton russian doll print...

And this pink butterfly one.  I love the green and pink together.

Im also having a new logo designed which Im hoping to reveal this week.

All in all, its coming together rather nicely.  More coming soons, coming soon!

Yum!

Ok, maybe thats a bit of a misleading title, but its what I think when I look at all these gorgeous buttons we will soon be having on sale!

I make no secret of the fact I love buttons, so much so I want to eat them (not advised).  Maybe its because they look like sweets.  I also love anything with spots on.  So you can imagine how happy I was when this little lot turned up today!

Lovely large polka dotty buttons

Small but just as lovely polka dot buttons!
Think my youngest daughter likes them too as I've found some in her little bag this afternoon.  Like mother like daughter.

Six weeks until launch day and counting!

How to Fold a Fat Quarter

Fabric is being delivered thick and fast at the moment and Im busy putting together collections, photographing different items and generally getting ready for the launch on 1st March 2012.

I decided that, at the craft fairs and trade shows, rather than sell fabrics by the meter, which would involve lugging A LOT of stock around, I'll be selling pre cut Fat Quarters.  I love nothing more than seeing a folded stack of fat quarters (my local fabric shops rolls them up and it just doesnt look the same!).

I found a fab tutorial online about how to fold a fat quarter so its perfect.

Take a look at it here.

Here's my favourite fabric thats come in of late, all folded into perfect fat quarters...

Mmmmm...strawberries and shrooms
Would love to know what you think of this fabric?  It slightly reminds me of summer!

A Few Sewing Gifts

Hello and thanks for stopping by!

Just wanted to share a few sewing gifts that will soon be available on our site.  The idea is, we are going to make up a number of items that can be used by our lovely customers or given to a like minded sewing friend as a gift.  All will be made up using our lovely fabrics.

Here's a few I started yesterday...

Somewhere safe and funky to keep your needles!
I dont know about you, but my needle case is one of my most used pieces of equipment and I go into a mild panic if it goes awol!

Lots more will be made up over the coming weeks ready for the launch on 1st March.

Hello and Welcome!

Thank you for visiting, and hopefully reading, the very first post from The Sewing Boutique.

We will be launching our online sewing supplies shop on 1st March 2012.

Currently we are busy putting together stock, taking photos and building up the web site.  All of which is time consuming, but such a lovely way to spend a day Im sure you will agree.  Who wouldnt want to be surrounded by fabrics and buttons?  Its going to be hard to part with all this lovely fabric but Im sure a few sneaky scraps may find their way into my stash!

I look forward to sharing the journey with you.  The 1st March will be here before we know it!
